These bulls represent our breeding program which is based around strong genetics for the utilization of pasture and forage with a goal of dependable performance.
You’ll notice that each of these bulls is out of a home raised dam with most being multiple generational. We are a breeding program with generations of planned matings behind each pedigree bringing a depth of predictable quality.
We calve in the early season grazing period of May/June and our bull calves remain on pasture with their mothers until early December. At weaning the bull calves are fed good quality hay supplemented with Country Junction 16% Rightway pellets at an approximate rate of .8% of their body weight (approx. 1/3 of their feed intake) for healthy bone and muscle development. We appreciate that these pellets doen’t contain any cereal starch getting their energy from digestible fibre. Come summer, with our yearling bulls slightly on the green side, they go back out on pasture to graze and enjoy. During the late season grazing period starting mid-September we begin supplementing these long yearling bulls a modest amount of 16% Rightway pellets. Around the beginning of November the bulls are given free choice good hay and bucket feed the 16% pellets at .8% through the winter months.
These bulls, as with our complete breeding herd, have been DNA evaluated for parentage, polled status, colour status and to strengthen the accuracy of their EPDs. All their stats are available from the “Digital Beef Profile” link.
You are invited to view the bulls on the farm at your convenience. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

DSP 6L could be described as a large barrelled fella with extra gut capacity. He is a large volumed, easy calving cow bull with plenty of muscle.
Every good bull requires an equally good mother and DSP 6L is no exception. DSP 7D at nine years of age is still a very productive cow.
